Bedding measurements can vary by brand and country. Use this guide as a starting point, then check the exact dimensions listed on the product page before purchasing.

Common U.S. mattress dimensions

Before choosing fitted sheets

• Measure the mattress width and length.
• Measure the mattress depth from the bottom edge to the highest point.
• Include the height of a mattress topper if it will remain on the bed.
• Choose a pocket depth that accommodates the full mattress depth without excessive strain.

Duvets, quilts, and comforters

Finished dimensions can differ even when two products use the same size name. A larger drop may create a fuller, more relaxed look, while a closer fit can feel cleaner and more tailored. Compare the product dimensions with your mattress and bed-frame height.

Pillowcases and shams

Standard, queen, king, and Euro pillow dimensions are not interchangeable. Confirm the pillow or insert measurement and compare it with the case or sham dimensions. For a fuller decorative sham, an insert slightly larger than the sham is sometimes used, but always follow the product maker’s recommendation.

International products
